Job Title: Assistant Manager

Reports To: Store Manager
Pay Structure: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager ensures that the store is dedicated to meeting the equipment rental and supply/merchandise needs of contractor companies, industrial and commercial companies, and homeowners. The main responsibility of the Assistant Store Manager is to direct the supervision of the branch, in the Store Manager’s absence, to ensure its smooth operation and profitability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous counter /customer service experience in the equipment rental/construction industry and/or related field required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assist with customer inquiries
  • Handle Dispatch Responsibilities as needed
  • Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customer needs
  • May assist in educating customers on equipment use and demonstrating equipment for customers
  • Determine equipment available for rental
  • Perform inventory control processes
  • Load and unload equipment, assist with deliveries and prepare equipment for rental
  • Check equipment for damage, record hours used, mileage and fuel levels for billing purposes
  • Inspect equipment and trucks for safety decals and compliance, and ensure that equipment is in good working order
  • Follow proper cash accounts procedures
  • Follow all Cresco Operational Procedures and QC Standards
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or any Cresco Manager

Education, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong sales and customer service experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry preferred
  • Computer skills, particularly Excel skills
  • Effective leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Valid California driver’s license

Physical Demands and/or Work Environment

  • Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when restocking shelves, loading and unloading equipment, processing customer transactions
  • Ability to bend, kneel, walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per day
  • Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment
  • Ability to sit for at least 4 hours per day
  • Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day
  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
  • Other duties assigned as needed
